Other Useful Information
The FDA has recently announced the recall of body tissues, bones and organs that were provided by Biomedical Tissue Services, Ltd. (BTS) of Ft. Lee, NJ. This company had received organs, tissues and bones from a funeral home that has been in the body parts harvesting business for several years. Charges have been filed against 4 indivuals involved in the scandal.
This practice is not unique to funeral homes. ULCA has also come under scrutiny with their Willed Body Program. An "independent news service," refers to the UCLA body harvesting scandal as the "Organ Mafia," which they claim consists "of 'cadaver hunters', surgeons, nurses and hospital administrators whose sole purpose is to maximize their profits by selling transplantable organs and tissues to the highest bidder.
If you have been the victim of a transplant containing infected tissue, you might be entitled to compensation. Contact a recall attorney today for a free case evaluation.
